My work tends to deal with personal insights, reflections, perceptions and introspections. The pieces are a reflection of my perception, whether it be waking or sleeping—a shared thought, a psychological introspection. I have always thought of painting in terms of the process, as a series of steps on the road for a cohesive truth—a greater understanding.
My current work explores the process of painting. Through the loose application of paint I´ve allowed the work to develop and take it´s own direction, later pulling the pieces back in ever so slightly, simply by sketching on top of the canvas using a paint stick or oil pencil. Each mistake is incorporated instead of discarded—allowing the work to take on an imperfect and honest persona.
